Epstein & The Great Misdirection

Every time new information on the Epstein files come out, many content creators I follow post about them. Time after time, analyzing and listing new versions of the same violations, different (but mostly the same) people implicated in them, and vague messaging and innuendos.

Under such posts, no matter the platform, exist a few common patterns of discourse, that I will attempt to summarize:

1. Blaming of either both or one of the major US political parties - "Guys, both sides are guilty" (whatever "sides" means to Americans anyway) / "Oh yeah? Well the Democrats could have released them when they were in office" (as if the two major political parties in the US aren't the same person in different trench coats)

2. Defeatism - "What are we supposed to do about this?"

3. Calls for "Action" - "They all need to be arrested!"

4. Dichotomy of Good vs Evilâ„¢ - "It's sick how we are run by evil" (The vague concept of evil is used a lot in place of just about anything)

which usually leads to the last one,

5. Conspiracy Absolutism - "See I knew they were satan worshippers/want to replace all white people/[insert other conspiracy here]"

I'm going to keep this simple. None of this helps.

From a first glance, there seems to be a lot of outrage and calls to action which SHOULD be a good thing, except for when you look a bit closer or speak to a lot of people (especially those from the US) you come to realize there is absolutely no productive direction or holistic observation guiding these intense feelings.

Besides the especially pointless responses (1, 2, 4), misdirection and division is still going as strong as it ever has. You can call for the rich and powerful's arrest, you can blame any race, religion (or lack thereof), ethnicity, political affiliation you want - the core problem is never addressed. You can't poof people away and expect things to improve when what has been going on has been systemically allowed. Actually scratch that, it's the system working as intended.

To be more direct and crass;

I don't give a shit if you think it's "satan's work" or satan worshippers (despite religion having been a very important tool in pacifying, protecting and defending this system and its' people AS WE SPEAK). What are you proposing with this? That the solution is to pray it away? Case in point, useless.

I don't give a shit if you think it's "The Jews"/Muslims/POC/"The Transes" or "The Gays". What are you proposing, more genocide? How does that stop history from repeating? Capital from being accrued, imaginary money and the concentration of power to the few ruling over us? Are you so naive as to think that this is a problem of individuals? Again, useless.

Instead of debating and arguing over what conspiracies are true (which, according to the files is a literal diversion tactic in itself), who gives a shit about the details when we know what the root problem is? I'm not even suggesting any specific theoretical solution but we have to at least start thinking about alternatives, and everyone should be part of the discussion to make sure we aren't setting ourselves up for failure.

And a final note to the poor sweet souls still yelling for arrests: From the system that has the ability to arrest; it ain't happening. And even if you locked up the people involved for a thousand years, as long as everything else stays the same, nothing would be fixed. They'd be replace by the next biggest fraudsters, and we'll keep having this conversation again. And again. Until we've already been bled dry.
